I'm an impatient guy as well, definitely geared towards instant gratification, but I learned recently, and simply by pushing myself, that the details make or break a piece of artwork. Whether someone enjoys your style or not, they can at least understand the work that went into it. I think, for me at least, that's what awes me most about something that you know has had alot of work put into it.
When it comes time to ink, I can only describe it as a sort of creative meditation. It often calls for a calming and simple tracing, but also can call for inventiveness and bold decisions. I love inking. It used to bore the hell out of me, but I now find myself looking forward to it most of the time, and to see a piece that just came out of your head, to see that officially inked really well.. its awesome.
The best part is, of course, sharing it with others. I tend to focus on post-apocalyptic art so it appeals to a certain group of people. When those people appreciate it, or even if it draws some kind of reaction, it makes me really happy. Its very much like I'm putting people in my head, in my imagination.

Just because no one understands you doesn't mean you're an artist.

Thus is the fault of mankind. Love, both a strength and a weakness but never a burden. We are soft therefore when love hurts we can't complain. We can only better ourselves by understanding that which is thrust upon us all at one point or another. Strive.
